2017 is a 1 year in numerology. The over arching theme for this year has been Change. With a Capital C! New beginnings and endings. I for one have gone through about 3 major life changes this year. I ended a long-term relationship, moved to a new city and started a new business. 2017 has been a roller-coaster ride for most of us. Small scale and large scale, as we see these themes play out not only in our personal lives but on the global stage as well. And now as 2017 comes to a close it’s time to take the lessons learned and see how it all fits into the energy of 2018.
There is a lot of energy ramping up coming into 2018. Add the numbers together and you get 11, which is a master number, and add further to get 2. January 1, 2018 equals 11,11. To top it all off we have a super moon on January 2, 2018. Whew! My head is spinning already! So, what does this all mean, and how can we use this information to help us navigate the coming year. Well, let’s break it down.
Let’s start with the Master number 11, to help us explore the energetic theme for 2018. The number 1 in numerology is masculine. It is the beginning. With 11 you have that energy doubled. This is a strong energy that is decisive, and action based. When you add this together you get 2. The 2 in numerology is feminine. The energy is deeply intuitive, compassionate. Take these two energies together and we see a balance of masculine and feminine energies. There will be decisive action that needs to be taken and you will know when and how to take action by tuning in to your intuition. In Tarot, the number 11 is represented by the Justice card in the Major Arcana. This represents balance, equality and equilibrium. After the topsy-turvy feeling of 2017, this is a much welcome energetic feeling, as we finally find even ground after coming through so many changes in 2017.
Looking at the number 2 in Tarot, we find The High Priestess. She represents strong femininity, deep wisdom, intuition and the ability to connect and retrieve information from the collective consciousness. This makes perfect sense to me as we are going through a paradigm shift, and we are seeing globally how the strong feminine is being represented more in pop culture, politics, and social change.
In our personal lives, this theme is more likely to look and feel like a desire to deepen our spirituality and also find balance. The High Priestess card echoes the Justice Card in representing balance and equality with out high emotion or connection to outcome, but simply knowing what needs to be done and then taking the decisive action to do it.
2018 has us starting out with a bang! Giving us the energy we need to further accomplish what we started in 2017. Thankfully, we will be feeling much more balance and focused in order to achieve our goals.
